Mitigation Action Facility Call for Projects 2025

Application Deadline:
19 February 2025
About Organisation
The Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) is a leading platform for driving climate action across key sectors. Established in 2012 as a multi-donor, grant-based program, MAF provides climate finance and technical support for mitigation projects. It focuses on energy, transport, and industry, supporting projects that align with countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
Through annual competitive calls, MAF funds scalable and replicable projects that accelerate sectoral transitions toward carbon neutrality. The Facility aligns with global climate initiatives, including the Breakthrough Agenda, Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs), and Climate Club priorities. By offering targeted financial and technical assistance, it helps stakeholders implement impactful climate change mitigation strategies.
About the Grant
The Mitigation Action Facility launched its Call for Projects 2025 on 19 November 2024 at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. This initiative funds ambitious climate mitigation projects aligned with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term strategies (LTS) under the Paris Agreement.
The Call follows a structured selection process: Concept Phase, Outline Phase, Detailed Preparation Phase (DPP), and Implementation Phase. It prioritizes projects in energy, transport, and industry, supporting innovative, market-based solutions.
