About Organisation

Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd (KBGC AP) is a region-specific, non-profit arm of the global Knorr-Bremse Group, headquartered in Hong Kong and established in August 2019. It operates in the Asia-Pacific region—covering Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and other neighbouring countries. The organisation focuses on delivering development and humanitarian projects linked to the Group’s global social responsibility strategy. Core areas of support include quality education and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and 6). KBGC AP collaborates with local non-profit partners and leverages the presence of Knorr-Bremse company locations in its project countries to enhance community impact, ensure local relevance and engage employees in voluntary and mentorship roles.

About the Grant

KBGC AP’s grant programme provides funding to non-profit organisations working in education and WASH in countries where Knorr-Bremse has business sites in the Asia-Pacific region. Projects should foster self-sufficiency, responsible livelihoods and sustainable change among marginalised or disadvantaged populations. Grant sizes typically range from €30,000 to €100,000+ per year, depending on the size and scope of the applying organisation and project. The focus is on high-impact initiatives that can demonstrate measurable outcomes, strong local involvement and the potential for sustainable benefit. The programme supports funding requests for project design, implementation, capacity building, training, infrastructure relating to WASH or education and community engagement.
