About the Fellowship

The fellowship is funded through the International Climate Initiative (IKI) under the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). It provides extensive support, including financial allowances, research funding for hosts, and opportunities for networking and professional development.

Who can Apply?

Prospective leaders and postdocs from non-European developing or transition countries are eligible for the fellowship. Applicants should have relevant experience in climate protection or resource conservation. Prospective leaders must have completed their first degree within the last 12 years and have at least 24 months of professional experience, while postdocs should have completed their doctorate within the past four years. Fluency in English or German is required. The fellowship promotes diversity and invites applications from all backgrounds, with a focus on gender balance.
