About Organisation

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the national public health agency of the United States, dedicated to improving health through disease prevention, research, and partnerships. The CDC works globally, providing assistance to countries to control and prevent a range of diseases, including tuberculosis (TB). As part of its mission to combat TB worldwide, the CDC focuses on innovative, evidence-based strategies to reduce TB infection rates, enhance diagnosis, and improve patient care. The organization’s work spans research, policy development, and program implementation to strengthen health systems and support global health security, with a particular emphasis on high-burden settings.

About the Grant

The “Innovative Approaches for TB Prevention and Case Finding to END TB” program is a cooperative agreement initiative from the CDC, aimed at developing, evaluating, and implementing innovative methods to prevent TB and improve case finding. The grant consists of two key thematic components: 1) Preventing TB infection and halting disease progression, with strategies like TB preventive treatment and improved nutrition; 2) Enhancing TB case detection using new tools, focusing on high-risk populations such as healthcare workers, people living with HIV, children, and others at higher risk for TB exposure. The program seeks creative, scalable solutions to address TB in diverse and underserved communities globally.
