About Organisation
The World Food Prize Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing and promoting achievements that improve global food security. Established with the support of philanthropist John Ruan Sr., the foundation relocated the prestigious World Food Prize to Des Moines, Iowa in 1990 to continue **Norman E. Borlaug’s vision of ending hunger. About the Grant
The Innovate for Impact Challenge is a global initiative launched by the World Food Prize Foundation in partnership with America’s Cultivation Corridor to support breakthrough agricultural technologies. Announced during the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, the program aims to accelerate innovative AgTech startups addressing food security and sustainability challenges. Early-stage entrepreneurs from around the world are invited to present technology-driven solutions that improve agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability, and food systems resilience. Selected finalists will showcase their innovations at the 2025 Borlaug Dialogue and gain global recognition, networking opportunities, and startup funding agriculture support.
Who can Apply?
The Innovate for Impact Challenge is open to early-stage, for-profit startups working in the AgTech sector. Eligible applicants must have innovative agricultural technologies that contribute to sustainable food production and improved food security. Startups should be in the early stages of development, ranging from validated concepts to pre-Series A funding. At least one founder must be working full-time on the startup. Projects should demonstrate innovation, strong market potential, and measurable sustainability impact. Applications will be evaluated based on originality, scalability, and the ability to adapt solutions across diverse agricultural contexts. The program especially encourages startups advancing agriculture innovation grants and scalable food system solutions.
How to Apply?
Interested startups must prepare an online application outlining their agricultural technology solution, its impact on food security, and its market potential. Applicants should describe their innovation, sustainability contribution, and scalability. Shortlisted startups will be invited to pitch their solutions before industry experts. Finalists will present their AgTech innovations during the 2025 Borlaug Dialogue event, gaining exposure to investors, policymakers, and global agriculture leaders.
