About the Grant

The Inclusive Democracy Accelerator (IDA) is a six-month program designed to improve participatory initiatives by helping civil society organizations and governments better engage marginalized groups. Focused on women, youth, and displaced people, this accelerator offers training, mentoring, and resources like the Participation Playbook. Participants will be guided by dedicated mentors and provided with step-by-step resources, live sessions, and peer networking opportunities. The program includes a two-day international workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, with all travel expenses covered. Through this program, participants will develop action plans to improve engagement and participate in capacity-building activities aimed at embedding best practices for inclusive democracy.

Who can Apply?

The IDA is open to civil society organizations working in collaboration with governments on participatory initiatives. Eligible applicants must already have an ongoing participatory program and aim to improve engagement with marginalized communities such as women, youth, and displaced people. Applicants should be based in Latin America, Africa, Asia, or Eastern Europe. A formal partnership between the government and civil society organization is required. The program seeks to engage government officials, policymakers, and civil society leaders who are actively involved in participatory processes. The lead participant must have professional proficiency in English, French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
