The EFICO Foundation, established in 2003 by Patrick F. Installé of the EFICO founding family, is a unique European non-profit organization dedicated to supporting coffee farmers and their families. The Foundation collaborates with over 40 coffee roasters and numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations.
By covering its operational costs, the EFICO Foundation ensures that 100% of donations directly fund projects. Its mission encompasses enhancing livelihoods, promoting sustainability, and protecting natural resources within the coffee sector.
About the Grant
The EFICO Foundation offers project grants aimed at improving the lives of coffee producers and their communities. Grants focus on sustainable income growth, climate resilience, infrastructure support, and natural resource protection.
Projects are selected by an independent jury and managed transparently through the EFICO Fund, overseen by the King Baudouin Foundation. The Foundation supports initiatives that demonstrate a clear path to sustainability, leverage potential, and align with the UN Global Compact and Sustainable Development Goals.
Who can Apply?
- Eligible applicants include organizations or individuals with projects focused on improving coffee producers’ living conditions.
- Proposals must address social, environmental, and economic sustainability and aim to become self-sustaining.
- Preference is given to innovative projects that can inspire broader communities and effectively apply the UN Global Compact’s multi-stakeholder model.
- Projects should also significantly contribute to one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and include measurable progress indicators.
