About the Grant
The Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security was established to recognize and support groundbreaking concepts that hold exceptional promise in addressing global peace and security challenges. Under the leadership of Ambassador Thomas Greminger, Executive Director of the GCSP, the initiative was launched by Professor Nayef Al-Rodhan, Director of the Geopolitics and Global Futures Department, and Ms. Anne-Caroline Pissis Martel, Director of the Global Fellowship Initiative and Creative Spark. The inaugural edition of the prize was awarded in 2023.
This grant seeks innovative ideas that transcend national boundaries and propose forward-thinking solutions in various fields, such as transformative technologies, cybersecurity, climate change, disarmament, human rights, autonomous weapons, pandemics, and biothreats. The winning entry will receive a fully funded two-month incubation program within the GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva, valued at CHF 15,000, along with a certificate of excellence. Two additional finalist applications will be awarded certificates of recognition. This prize aims to foster creative and actionable solutions that contribute to long-term peace and security across the globe.
Who can Apply?
The prize is open to individuals, groups, and organizations from both the private and public sectors whose innovative concepts offer exceptional potential in addressing peace and security challenges. Applicants can be from any country, provided their ideas have a broad impact beyond national borders. Submissions from various fields, including cybersecurity, climate change, human rights, education, and disarmament, are encouraged.
However, certain restrictions apply. Employees, staff, current fellows, and active participants of the GCSP, along with their immediate family members, are not eligible to apply. Additionally, individuals who have had a professional relationship with the GCSP must wait for a period of one year after their association ends before becoming eligible to participate. All applications must be submitted in English.
This grant provides a unique opportunity for forward-thinking individuals and organizations to present solutions that drive meaningful change in global peace and security efforts.

The final date for submission is 20 March 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
Grant Amount
The first-place winner will receive a fully funded two-month incubation program at GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva, valued at CHF 15,000, along with a certificate of excellence. Two additional finalists will receive certificates of recognition.
