About the Grant

The Gandhi Fellowship, launched in 2008 with 11 fellows, is a 23-month full-time immersive program nurturing new-age leadership in young people. The fellowship addresses today’s volatile, complex world challenges requiring creativity, empathy, resilience, and collaboration. Built on the mantra that building yourself can change society and systems, the program connects fellows with real-world problems, enabling ground-up understanding and innovative solutions. With 2000+ alumni transforming India as media professionals, development sector workers, government consultants, corporate employees, and social entrepreneurs, the fellowship provides experiential learning opportunities. Fellows work alongside organizations or initiate their own projects, developing understanding of self and nation while creating impact through innovation and systemic change.
