Mental Health and Wellbeing of Young People Program

About Organisation

Being is an organization dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing for underserved young people aged 10 to 24. With a focus on innovative, culturally sensitive, and community-driven approaches, Being aims to address the complex social, cultural, and environmental factors impacting youth mental health. The organization seeks to engage young people and those with lived experience in the design and implementation of programs. Through funding opportunities, Being fosters effective mental health initiatives that can lead to sustainable change.

About the Grant

The Mental Health and Wellbeing of Young People Program invites proposals for prevention and promotion initiatives targeting mental health challenges faced by underserved youth. The funding emphasizes projects that recognize the interconnectedness of mental health with various sectors such as education, labor, justice, and housing. Proposed projects should employ a person-centered, rights-based approach, engaging young people from the start.

Available Funding Opportunities include:

  • Proof-of-Concept (POC) Funding: Grants of up to $250,000 CAD awarded over 15 or 18 months for early-stage projects that implement, test, and refine solutions to country-specific personal, social, and environmental factors affecting youth mental health in one of the 12 priority countries.
  • Transition-to-Scale (TTS) Funding: Grants ranging from $300,000 CAD to $1,500,000 CAD over 12 to 48 months, supporting organizations that align with country-specific priorities to enhance their sustainability and impact.

Who can Apply?
