About Organisation
The Culture and Animals Foundation (CAF) is an international philanthropic organisation dedicated to advancing animal rights through scholarship, creativity, and public engagement. The foundation supports scholars, artists, and activists whose work critically examines human–animal relationships, ethical responsibilities toward non-human animals, and the role of science and culture in shaping these relationships. By funding research, artistic expression, and performance-based initiatives, CAF seeks to inspire dialogue, challenge dominant narratives, and foster compassionate perspectives on animal advocacy. Its work encourages interdisciplinary and innovative approaches that raise awareness and contribute meaningfully to global animal rights discourse.
About the Grant
The Culture and Animals Foundation Grant Program provides financial support to projects that advance animal rights through research, creative expression, or performance. The grant encourages critical, imaginative, and interdisciplinary approaches that explore cultural, scientific, and ethical dimensions of human–animal relationships. Funded projects may reframe scientific knowledge, reflect on moral responsibilities toward animals, or envision future interactions between humans, science, and non-human animals. In 2026, the program will distribute grants from a dedicated funding pool, including special awards for projects that creatively engage with science and animal ethics, supporting impactful advocacy worldwide.
Who can Apply?
The grant is open to scholars, artists, and activists from any country whose work aligns with animal rights advocacy. Applicants may propose research, creative, or performance-based projects that raise awareness or advance ethical perspectives on non-human animals. Only one application per individual is permitted per funding cycle. Previous grant recipients may reapply after one year, though preference is given to new applicants. Projects must clearly advance animal rights and fall within eligible categories. Hands-on animal work, conservation projects without an animal rights focus, and indirect cost proposals are not eligible.
How to Apply?
Applicants must select an eligible project category—research, creativity, or performance—and prepare a detailed proposal outlining objectives, methods, expected outcomes, and impact on animal advocacy. The application should demonstrate alignment with the foundation’s mission and ethical focus. Completed applications must be submitted through the designated application process before the deadline. Funding decisions are communicated after the review period.
Application Deadline
Applications for the Culture and Animals Foundation Grant Program must be submitted by 31 January 2026 to be considered for funding in the 2026 cycle.
