The foundation prioritizes initiatives in regenerative and organic farming, food worker health and safety, climate justice, healthy food access, inclusive outdoor access, and pollution-free environments. Its funding helps nonprofits drive systemic change and improve community well-being.

There are two types of grants available: Open Call and By Invitation Only. Open Call grants provide funding for general operating costs or specific projects and are open to registered 501(c)(3) organizations. Successful applicants typically receive funding ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 for a one-year period. The selection process prioritizes organizations that align with the foundation’s strategic goals, demonstrate strong community ties, and operate at the grassroots level.

Applications for Open Call grants are reviewed twice a year, and grant announcements occur approximately four months after each deadline. The foundation does not fund capital construction, individuals, religious organizations, medical centers, or government agencies.
