About the Grant

The Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI), led by CIVICUS, aims to enhance inclusive democracy and civic engagement through the use of digital technologies. This grant opportunity invites regional partners in South Asia to implement co-designed financial and non-financial support mechanisms. These mechanisms will aid local civil society organizations facing restrictive conditions, enabling them to experiment and collaborate effectively. The DDI project emphasizes developing holistic support systems that bolster civil society’s capacities, ensuring sustainability and advocating for inclusive democratic practices in the digital age.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include recognized civil society organizations or consortia based in South Asia, with extensive experience managing medium-to-large-scale projects. Applicants must be legally registered in a qualifying country, proficient in English, and have networks in local civil society. Preference will be given to applications that engage diverse voices and address digital technologies’ role in fostering democracy.
