About the Grant
The Digital Action Lab (DAL) initiative by CIVICUS aims to empower civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Global South by fostering their organizing, advocacy, and campaign capacities. Through an open application process, selected cohorts of up to ten organizations will collaborate over nine months to design and implement a fully funded pilot project in their local context. Grants will range from $10,000 to $30,000 USD, with extensive coaching and support provided. The initiative will also facilitate connections to broader networks, enhancing participants’ skills and capabilities while promoting inclusive democracy and civic space.
Who can Apply?
The DAL is open to civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Global South that are dedicated to promoting inclusive democracy and civic space. Eligible organizations include NGOs, grassroots movements, social justice groups, and informal collectives. Special consideration will be given to organizations representing historically excluded communities, such as women, youth, and LGBTQI+ individuals. Applicants must be based in OECD DAC ODA countries, with preference for those operating in regions with restricted civic space. Both formally registered and informal groups are encouraged to apply.
