About the Grant

The Call for Projects 2025 by the Mitigation Action Facility provides grant-based funding to ambitious climate mitigation projects. It focuses on energy, transport, and industry sectors, along with cross-sectoral projects linked to these priorities. Selected projects aim to support sustainable development and enhance NDCs and LTS implementation in ODA-eligible countries. Up to EUR 25 million can be allocated per project, with a rigorous multi-phase selection process including Concept, Outline, Detailed Preparation, and Implementation phases. The grant emphasizes piloting innovative technologies, fostering scalable financial mechanisms, and promoting synergy with global climate initiatives like JETPs and Climate Club.

Who can Apply?

The Call is open to public and private entities proposing climate mitigation projects in energy, transport, or industry sectors. Eligible projects must align with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) guidelines and be implemented in ODA-eligible countries. Cross-border and regional projects are also encouraged. Applicants, including regional representations and subsidiaries, can submit up to six project concepts. The Facility offers tailored support to entities with limited prior experience. All projects must demonstrate public benefit and promote sustainable development, with a focus on scalability and market-based financial mechanisms.

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit their Project Concepts through the Open Application Platform (OAP) during the Concept Phase. Ensure alignment with eligibility criteria and sectoral priorities.
