The Sigourney Award 2026 recognizes outstanding contributions to psychoanalysis produced between 2016 and 2025. Eligible work may be academic, clinical, creative, applied, or interdisciplinary, with demonstrated impact on theory, practice, cultural dialogue, public awareness, or social justice. The award honors sustained vision and measurable influence that advances psychoanalytic discourse and engagement. Recipients receive international recognition, a monetary prize, and connection to a global psychoanalytic community. The Award particularly values interdisciplinary collaboration, artistic exploration, and initiatives that enhance human dignity while expanding public understanding of psychoanalysis.

Who can Apply?

Individuals, collaborative teams, and organizations worldwide may apply. Eligible applicants include clinicians, theorists, teachers, researchers, artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, social advocates, and interdisciplinary professionals. Work must have been produced between 2016 and 2025 and demonstrate meaningful impact on psychoanalysis, public discourse, or interdisciplinary engagement. Both nominated candidates and direct applicants follow the same application process; nominations are optional. Previous applicants may reapply with eligible work within the ten-year window. Submissions must clearly demonstrate measurable influence, cultural relevance, and contribution to psychoanalytic theory, practice, social justice, or creative expression.

How to Apply?

Applicants must complete the online application between 1 March and 31 July 2026. Required materials include an impact statement, a 180-word summary, responses to application questions, two independent evaluations, supporting credentials covering ten years, a professional photo or organizational logo, and a signed declaration. Optional supporting materials may also be submitted. Once finalized, applications cannot be edited.
