About the Grant
The BIRAC Product Commercialization Program (PCP) Fund is designed to support Indian biotechnology startups in bringing validated products and technologies to the market. While many BIRAC schemes fund research, development, and validation stages, the PCP Fund focuses on commercialization activities after a product reaches Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7 or above. The fund aims to accelerate market entry, pilot deployments, market validation, and large-scale commercialization of innovative biotechnology products. By addressing the financial gap between product validation and market launch, the program helps startups scale impactful biotech innovations and improve access to nationally relevant technologies across sectors.
Who can Apply?
Indian startups operating in the biotechnology sector are eligible to apply for the PCP Fund. Applicants must be incorporated in India and should be within ten years of incorporation at the time of application. The startup must have at least 51% Indian shareholding, supported by certification from a Chartered Accountant or Company Secretary with a valid UDIN. Majority shareholders must be Indian citizens holding valid Indian passports. Eligible products or technologies should have achieved TRL 7 or above and demonstrate readiness for commercialization. Startups may apply regardless of whether the product was originally developed using BIRAC funding.
How to Apply?
Applications must be submitted online through the designated BIRAC application system. Interested startups should register on the BIRAC portal, complete the required proposal details, and submit all supporting documents as per the program guidelines. Applicants should carefully review eligibility requirements and ensure their product meets the commercialization readiness criteria before applying. Only online submissions will be accepted for consideration.

About the Grant
The Bridging Narratives Grant is an intersectional initiative funded by the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. It aims to foster collaborative projects between independent journalists and social scientists, blending academic research and journalism to produce critical, people-centered narratives. The selected projects will address key global themes such as migration, political economy, ecology, and culture, highlighting their local implications through in-depth reporting. The goal is to create high-quality, participatory content that is disseminated through The Contrapuntal’s digital magazine. In addition to financial support, successful applicants will attend a workshop focused on journalism-research collaborations, culminating in an edited volume reflecting on the challenges and opportunities of merging the two fields.
Who can Apply?
The Bridging Narratives Grant is open to applicants from around the world, including India. This opportunity is available to journalists and researchers from all career stages, including academic staff, independent researchers, PhD students, and early-career scholars. The project encourages applications from those engaged with critical issues related to migration, political economy, ecology, and culture, though other relevant themes are also welcome. Both individual and joint applications are accepted. Individual applicants will be paired with a researcher after pitch submission, while journalist-researcher teams can submit joint proposals. Applicants must be committed to collaborative work that merges academic research with investigative journalism to produce impactful, people-centered stories.
How to Apply?
Applicants should submit a short CV (max. 1 page) and a story/research pitch (up to 300 words). Up to two pitches may be submitted, with one being selected for development.
