About Organisation

The Asian Cultural Council (ACC) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1963 by John D. Rockefeller III to promote international cultural exchange between Asia and the United States, as well as within Asia itself. ACC supports artists, scholars, cultural professionals and organisations through fellowships, grants and networking opportunities, with a mission to foster mutual understanding, respect and collaboration across borders. Headquartered in New York City and operating via regional affiliate offices in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines, ACC has funded thousands of exchanges and programmes in the arts and humanities. The Organisation Grant stream forms part of ACC’s broader vision to enable institutions to strengthen their capacity for cultural immersion, research and exchange, while building bridges among artistic communities across different regions.

About the Grant

The Organization Grant offered by ACC supports cultural organisations—non-profits, public bodies or academic institutions—that aim to deepen their ability to engage in cross-cultural exchange and research. Grants may be used for activities such as travel and accommodation for staff, hosting participants or partners, immersive research and access to cultural resources in another country or region. Importantly, ACC does not fund production- or exhibition-only grants; instead the focus is on transformational, immersive experiences that build relationships, expand perspectives and enhance organisational capacity. The maximum award is USD 50,000, and the grant period typically spans one to six months of activity. Applicants must clearly articulate how their project will leverage the exchange to benefit their organisation, participants and wider cultural communities.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include registered non-profit cultural organisations, government or government-sponsored arts/cultural institutions, and academic or higher-education institutions based in ACC-eligible countries or regions. The organisation must be legally registered in an eligible country, have credible governance and financial management in place, and be capable of initiating and managing the activities proposed. Projects must focus on cultural exchange, research or immersive learning—not simply travel, exhibitions or commercial activities. Organisations that have received an ACC grant in the past two calendar years may be ineligible for the same grant type. Applicants must select ONE ACC grant type per cycle and ensure activities take place within designated grant periods.
