About Organisation

ERIM is an international nonprofit organisation working to strengthen human rights, independent media and civil society. Through programmes supporting civil society organisations and activists, ERIM provides capacity building, grants and other assistance to organisations and individuals facing difficult operating environments. The FIER·ES programme focuses on strengthening the inclusion, equality, resilience and safety of LGBTQIA+ people and civic actors. In Ukraine, the programme provides assistance to activists, civil society members, journalists, artists, lawyers, researchers and organisations exposed to risks because of their human rights and advocacy work. The support combines psychosocial assistance with emergency assistance designed to help eligible applicants address urgent wellbeing, security, legal, medical and relocation needs.

About the Grant

The FIER·ES Programme provides two forms of support in Ukraine. Eligible applicants can receive up to €500 for psychosocial and wellbeing support and up to €2,300 in emergency assistance for eligible needs such as legal aid, security measures, medical expenses and relocation assistance. The programme aims to strengthen the resilience and safety of LGBTQIA+ activists and civil society actors while helping organisations and individuals continue their human rights and inclusion work. Applications remain open on a continuing basis through the published deadline, subject to programme requirements and available support.

Who can Apply?

The opportunity is intended for eligible LGBTQIA+ activists, civil society members, journalists, artists, lawyers, researchers and organisations in Ukraine who require psychosocial or emergency support connected to their work or circumstances. Applicants should demonstrate the relevant connection to LGBTQIA+ rights, civil society or human rights activities and provide information supporting the requested assistance. Emergency assistance may cover eligible legal, security, medical or relocation expenses. Applicants should carefully review the programme’s current requirements before submitting an application.

Applicants should review the current FIER·ES programme information and submit their request through the designated process. Applications should clearly explain the need for psychosocial or emergency assistance and provide relevant supporting information.
