SDSN Youth is a global youth-led network committed to empowering young people to advance sustainable development in their communities. As part of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, SDSN Youth connects young leaders with training, mentorship, and institutional support to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organisation works across regions to strengthen youth engagement in policy, advocacy, research, and local action. About the Grant
The Local Pathways Fellowship (LPF) is a flagship 10-month program of SDSN Youth focused on localizing Sustainable Development Goal 11 through youth-led urban action. The fellowship supports young urban leaders in developing community-based projects that enhance urban resilience and sustainability. Fellows engage in structured learning, mentorship, peer collaboration, and project development while addressing city-specific challenges. The program emphasizes knowledge-building, practical implementation, and global networking, connecting fellows to a diverse international cohort working to transform cities into inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable spaces.
Who can Apply?
The fellowship is open to young people aged 18–30 from any city or country worldwide. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in sustainable development and urban issues, with at least one year of academic or professional experience in relevant fields such as urban planning, sustainability, community engagement, advocacy, or development practice. Candidates must possess strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills, be fluent in English, and have the capacity to commit time, resources, and stable internet access throughout the fellowship duration.
How to Apply?
Interested candidates must submit their application before the stated deadline through the official application process. Applicants should clearly outline their background, interest in urban sustainability, and commitment to localizing the SDGs. Applications are reviewed competitively, with selected fellows notified after the evaluation process.

The application deadline for the 2026 Local Pathways Fellowship Program is 21 December 2025. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
