PRS also promotes greater transparency by helping citizens understand how they are represented. Through research, analysis, and public engagement, the organisation builds channels for informed dialogue between policymakers and citizens. Its initiatives aim to enhance accountability, improve legislative performance, and encourage evidence-based decision making at both national and state levels.

About the Grant

The Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship offers young Indians a unique opportunity to work directly with Members of Parliament and gain firsthand exposure to law-making and governance. Each Fellow is assigned an MP and works full-time from the Monsoon Session to the end of the Budget Session. Fellows conduct research, draft parliamentary questions, prepare speeches, and support the MP’s legislative and policy work. During inter-session breaks, Fellows participate in workshops, policy discussions, and field visits, engaging with experts, policymakers, and institutions. The fellowship serves as an immersive training ground for aspiring public policy professionals.

Who can Apply?

The LAMP Fellowship is open to highly motivated young individuals aged 25 years or below who are passionate about public policy, governance, and legislative processes. Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Only Indian citizens are eligible. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong research skills, analytical thinking, and an interest in national policy issues. PRS seeks individuals who can work in fast-paced environments and contribute meaningfully to an MP’s parliamentary responsibilities. The fellowship encourages candidates from diverse academic backgrounds to apply, creating a cohort of varied perspectives.
