About the Grant
The Knight Science Journalism Academic-Year Fellowship offers 10 science journalists from around the world the opportunity to spend nine months at MIT advancing their craft. Fellows pursue a journalism-related research project, audit courses at MIT, Harvard, and nearby institutions, and join seminars, workshops, and field trips designed to expand their scientific and storytelling skills. The fellowship emphasizes independent exploration, professional development, and deep engagement with world-class experts and facilities. Participants also benefit from a vibrant community of peers and structured support to help complete and present their research projects, many of which lead to published work.
