The National Foundation for India (NFI) has worked for over 35 years as a grant-making and capacity-building institution dedicated to strengthening civil society and advancing social justice. Partnering with over 500 grassroots organisations nationwide, NFI has supported initiatives that address critical social, economic, and governance challenges in remote and underserved areas. Its mission is to empower communities to lead transformative change, ensuring no one is left behind.
About the Grant
The Fraternity Fellowship 2025 supports grassroots leaders working with marginalised communities across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland. The fellowship upholds the constitutional values of justice, equality, liberty, fraternity, and dignity through community action and dialogue. It provides financial support, mentorship, and peer-learning opportunities to strengthen leadership, promote inclusion, and foster dialogue among vulnerable communities, enabling changemakers to expand their impact and sustain long-term social transformation.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must be individuals actively engaged in community work through grassroots organisations, collectives, or CSOs, though not as full-time staff members. They should focus on social issues like gender, local governance, Dalit, Adivasi, or minority rights, peacebuilding, or environmental justice. Eligible applicants must have a trusted community relationship, preferably work with youth, and be 25–45 years old. Women, Dalit, Adivasi, Minority, LGBTQ+, and other marginalised applicants are encouraged to apply. Full-time employees or politically affiliated individuals are ineligible.
How to Apply?
Applicants must fill out the official application form and submit it with all required documents by 15 November 2025. Responses should be concise, reflect grassroots experience, and include relevant examples. The application must highlight the applicant’s engagement with the community and their contribution to promoting constitutional values. Only complete applications submitted before the deadline will be considered.
