About Organisation

AmplifyChange is a dedicated funder supporting advocacy work that advances sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) across the globe. Focused particularly on small and grassroots civil society organisations, AmplifyChange aims to build a stronger and more inclusive SRHR movement by offering financial support and capacity-building opportunities. Their mission is rooted in promoting rights-based approaches, transforming harmful social norms, and amplifying the voices of marginalised groups. The organisation believes in intersectional advocacy that ties SRHR to broader issues such as gender-based violence, youth health, stigma, access for marginalised communities, and other intersecting themes like climate justice, mental health, and pleasure-based sexual health. By funding and nurturing innovative, locally-led projects, AmplifyChange seeks to empower communities to push for policy change, demand services, and reshape societal attitudes. Their comprehensive support not only includes funding but also mentorship, networking, and visibility for grassroots advocacy initiatives. With an emphasis on piloting new ideas, learning from practice, and scaling effective interventions, AmplifyChange remains committed to building sustainable advocacy movements that lead to long-term change in SRHR outcomes worldwide.

About the Grant

The AmplifyChange Opportunity Grant Programme is designed to support small, grassroots organisations in implementing innovative SRHR advocacy projects in eligible countries. The grant focuses on catalysing fresh ideas and strengthening local civil society through targeted funding of up to GBP 75,000 for projects lasting between 18 and 36 months. It aims to improve access to SRHR services and information, shift harmful social norms, influence policy changes, raise awareness, and build inclusive advocacy movements.

This funding round prioritises proposals aligned with AmplifyChange’s key themes: safe abortion, ending gender-based violence, improving youth sexual health, challenging stigma, and increasing access for marginalised groups. It also welcomes projects addressing cross-cutting themes like climate justice, mental health, and pleasure-based sexual health. The grant encourages initiatives that tackle root causes of discrimination, pilot new approaches, empower underrepresented voices, and strengthen policy implementation. The Opportunity Grant is ideal for organisations that find it difficult to access larger funding opportunities but are committed to creating positive change in SRHR through community-led advocacy. Whether your organisation is registered or not, you are eligible to apply and receive support to manage the grant or formalise your operations if selected.

Who can Apply?

The Opportunity Grant is open to small to medium-sized civil society organisations based in eligible countries as defined by AmplifyChange. To be eligible, your organisation must have an average annual expenditure of less than GBP 200,000 over the past two financial years. For example, if your organisation spent GBP 100,000 in one year and GBP 350,000 the next, the average would exceed the limit, making you ineligible.

Both registered and unregistered organisations may apply. If unregistered, selected applicants will receive support either to register and open a bank account or to identify a trusted fiscal sponsor to manage the funds. Evidence of past expenditures, such as audited financial reports or profit and loss statements, will be required during the application process.

The grant is especially suited for grassroots organisations that face challenges in securing traditional funding. Projects should aim to address key SRHR priorities, including safe abortion, ending gender-based violence, youth health, access for marginalised groups, and stigma. Additional preference is given to initiatives that incorporate mental health, climate justice, and pleasure-based sexual health. The programme supports piloting new ideas, scaling promising practices, and empowering communities to advocate for policy change and improved services.

How to Apply?

To apply for the AmplifyChange Opportunity Grant, eligible organisations must prepare a detailed proposal aligned with one or more SRHR outcome areas. The application should clearly outline the project’s advocacy goals, targeted communities, budget requirements, and expected impact. Supporting financial documentation is required. Applications must be submitted through the designated grant portal by the deadline. Both registered and unregistered organisations are welcome to apply.
