About the Grant
The Seed Award is an annual initiative by the Prince Claus Fund aimed at emerging artists and cultural practitioners. This grant seeks to support artists in the early stages of their careers who are addressing pressing social and political issues through their work. Each recipient of the Seed Award receives a €5,000 grant to use as they see fit for their artistic or cultural development. The grant is intended to help artists amplify their practices, enabling them to experiment, connect, and grow their impact in their local communities. Through this funding, the Fund seeks to stimulate creative practices that can contribute to positive societal change.
Who can Apply?
The Seed Award is open to emerging artists who are within the first 1 to 5 years of their career (excluding study years) and are based in eligible countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, or Eastern Europe. Applicants must have an established artistic practice that engages with social and political issues, and they should have received little or no institutional recognition or support for their work. The grant is designed for individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in their communities through their art.
How to Apply?
To apply, submit your application through the Prince Claus Fund’s online platform. Include samples of your work, a CV, a reference letter, and a pitch answering the question, “What drives you as an artist?”
Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted by January 21, 2025, before 17:00 Amsterdam time.
