About the Grant
The D-Prize Global Challenge funds bold, distribution-focused ideas that can dramatically increase access to poverty-alleviating products and services. Applicants are invited to select a challenge area—such as maternal health, clean energy, education access, agricultural productivity, and more—and propose a pilot that will deliver proven interventions to underserved populations. Successful applicants receive seed funding of up to USD 20,000 to launch a 90-day pilot in a target community. D-Prize seeks high-impact ventures that are innovative, scalable, realistically executable, and capable of becoming financially sustainable. The challenge is designed for teams ready to test ideas and accelerate measurable social impact.
Who can Apply?
The challenge is open to aspiring and early-stage social entrepreneurs, NGOs, nonprofits, community organisations, and mission-driven individuals seeking to launch new distribution ventures. Applicants may reside in any country but must focus their work in low- and middle-income regions. Both registered organisations and individuals without prior entrepreneurial experience are welcome. Strong applications demonstrate a clear understanding of a proven intervention, an actionable pilot plan, and a commitment to full-time implementation if selected. Existing organisations with significant operations or funding are generally discouraged; D-Prize prioritizes new or very young ventures with high potential for scalable, community-driven impact.
How to Apply?
Applicants must select a challenge track and submit a concept note outlining the problem, proposed distribution model, target beneficiaries, and expected impact. Shortlisted candidates are invited to submit a full proposal and may undergo interviews. Finalists receive seed funding to implement a 90-day pilot. Applications should highlight feasibility, local insight, and scaling potential. Submissions are accepted online, and applicants must follow D-Prize’s structured application guidelines.
