About the Grant
The Astra Fellowship is Constellation’s flagship initiative to accelerate AI safety research and talent. This fully funded 3–6 month in-person programme takes place at Constellation’s Berkeley research centre, where fellows work on frontier AI safety projects under expert mentorship. Participants gain dedicated research management support, career guidance, and access to a vibrant community of over 150 AI safety-focused collaborators. With a proven track record of placing fellows into top AI safety organisations, Astra offers not only training and mentorship but also incubation services for those launching new initiatives.
Who can Apply?
Constellation is seeking talented individuals motivated to reduce catastrophic risks from advanced AI. Applicants may come from diverse backgrounds such as technical research, governance, security, strategy, or policy. Prior AI safety experience is not mandatory, as many impactful fellows have transitioned from adjacent fields. Ideal candidates are those who want to pursue a full-time career in AI safety or build new initiatives addressing urgent challenges. International applicants are welcome, and visa support is provided. Applicants should demonstrate curiosity, strong domain knowledge, and the commitment to advancing safe AI.
