About the Grant
The Development of Transformative Sanitation Technologies (TST) program seeks innovative, scalable, and sustainable sanitation solutions tailored for Indian household and community contexts. With a maximum award of INR 6 million, the initiative supports projects that create affordable, efficient, and user-friendly sanitation systems capable of addressing pressing challenges like waste treatment, hygiene, and environmental safety. The program emphasizes technologies adaptable to diverse Indian settings, including rural and urban areas, ensuring equitable access to safe sanitation. Successful proposals should demonstrate technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and pathways for scale-up, aiming to contribute toward national sanitation goals and global sustainable development.
Who can Apply?
Eligibility is open to a broad range of organizations capable of delivering impactful sanitation innovations. Applicants may include:

NGOs/Nonprofits engaged in sanitation, health, or community development.

Government/Public Bodies involved in sanitation policy or implementation.

Academic Institutions with research capacity in sanitation or technology.

Applicants must be Indian entities or organizations registered in India. Projects should focus on developing, testing, and scaling sanitation technologies suited for household and community applications. Proposed interventions should demonstrate sustainability, affordability, adaptability to local contexts, and minimal environmental impact.
