Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 6
About Organisation
One Young World is a global platform dedicated to empowering and developing young leaders committed to building a fair and sustainable future for all. The organization’s flagship initiative is the annual One Young World Summit, an international gathering that serves as a launching pad for young change-makers to unite, exchange ideas, and collaborate on solutions to pressing global challenges. Each summit brings together youth delegates from every corner of the world to inspire collective action and raise the bar for global leadership.
The 2025 Summit is set to take place in Munich, Germany from November 3–6. It aims to bring together future-focused young leaders to address the world’s biggest problems and accelerate impactful change. One Young World’s work goes beyond just an event—it fosters a long-term ecosystem of change by supporting youth-led initiatives through partnerships, funding opportunities, and mentoring. The organization has a strong track record of enabling measurable impact through its programs, collaborations, and leadership development. Their partnerships with corporations like Reckitt help amplify solutions and empower grassroots entrepreneurs working on critical global goals like access to clean water and sanitation.
About the Grant
The Reckitt–One Young World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 6 supports youth-led innovations that improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Despite global efforts, billions still face severe water scarcity, lack of sanitation, and limited hygiene resources—issues that significantly impact children, especially in schools. Through this initiative, Reckitt reinforces its commitment to advancing progress on SDG 6 by supporting scalable and sustainable WASH solutions.
The challenge particularly seeks solutions focused on women and children, as well as those incorporating digital technology or AI to broaden impact. It also welcomes innovations that promote hygiene practices, reduce water-borne diseases, or tackle WASH-related challenges within Reckitt’s operations—such as water recycling and reuse in factories.
Selected solutions should not only offer equitable access to basic services but also contribute to building a lasting ecosystem of awareness, education, and development. The winning initiative will receive a $50,000 grant, a fully sponsored spot at the One Young World Summit 2025, and 12 months of mentorship from Reckitt professionals to help scale their impact. With a proven track record of backing impactful entrepreneurs, this grant offers a powerful opportunity for young leaders to accelerate real-world change.
Who can Apply?
This grant opportunity is specifically designed for youth-led initiatives. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and should have founded or be leading a project aligned with the goals of SDG 6—clean water and sanitation for all. Applicants should be able to demonstrate that their solution is already showing positive social results—such as improvements in health, education, or job creation—and that these impacts can be measured with concrete indicators.
Financial viability and scalability are crucial: the initiative must be efficient and capable of sustaining itself through generated income, investments, or donor support. There must also be potential for expansion, either in terms of geographic reach or population served.
