About Organisation
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, is the country’s largest manufacturer of passenger vehicles. It played a pioneering role in revolutionizing the Indian automobile landscape with the launch of the Maruti 800, and today boasts a portfolio of 16 car models across 150+ variants. With production facilities in Gurgaon, Manesar, and Kharkhoda, along with a modern R&D center in Rohtak, MSIL continues to drive innovation in the automotive sector. India is currently the third-largest automobile market globally, and MSIL holds an impressive ~40% share in the domestic passenger vehicle segment, selling nearly 2 million units annually.
About the Grant
Maruti Suzuki, in collaboration with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, has launched the Nurture Cohort 3 under its pre-incubation initiative. This program is designed to identify and support early-stage startups from East, Northeast, and Central India. It aims to foster innovation at the grassroots level and offer startups mentorship, exposure to the industry, and the opportunity to pilot their ideas with Maruti Suzuki. Selected participants stand to gain financial incentives, industry collaboration, prototype support, and a chance to scale through MSIL’s extended innovation ecosystem.
Who can Apply?
The program welcomes tech-enabled startups that are innovating in mobility and related sectors. Focus areas include sustainability, road safety, skill development, air purification, industrial safety, merchandise, mobility-tech, social entrepreneurship, and more. Eligible applicants must be Indian citizens with startups in the prototype stage up to Pre-Series A. Individuals possessing a prototype, minimum viable product (MVP), or proof of concept with some revenue generation are also encouraged to apply. Startups beyond the traditional mobility space but offering transformative solutions are equally welcome.
How to Apply?
Eligible startups must fill out the application form corresponding to their region (East, Northeast, or Central) when live, and submit their proposals for review by the MSIL and IIMCIP panel.
