About Organisation
The Anil Agarwal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Vedanta Limited, is dedicated to fostering inclusive and sustainable development in India. With a strong commitment to social transformation, the Foundation implements impactful projects across health, education, livelihood, and environment. One of its flagship initiatives, Project Nand Ghar, aims to modernize anganwadis and empower rural communities, especially women and children. By combining infrastructure development with integrated services like education, nutrition, and skill-building, the Foundation works to bridge critical gaps in grassroots development. Operating across multiple Indian states, the Foundation has built partnerships with government bodies, civil society, and corporates to ensure holistic interventions that are scalable and sustainable. In Rajasthan, Vedanta is actively supporting community empowerment and rural development through innovative livelihood solutions and capacity-building programs. Its goal is to create long-term socio-economic impact by equipping communities with the tools and support they need to thrive.
About the Grant
The Women Livelihood & Empowerment Grant under Project Nand Ghar aims to uplift rural women in Rajasthan through comprehensive and sustainable livelihood strategies. The program focuses on skilling and capacity building, reactivating and forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs), promoting micro-enterprise development, and ensuring strong market linkages. Implemented in districts like Udaipur, Jaipur, and Kota, the project seeks to provide women with opportunities for income generation, economic independence, and long-term resilience. Selected implementing partners will conduct market research, deliver skill training tailored to local needs, facilitate SHG activities, and provide women access to digital tools, government schemes, and financial support. The project also emphasizes impact tracking and community storytelling, aiming to ensure each woman earns at least ₹5,000/month or experiences an income boost of ₹3,000/month, with sustainability of income for over six months post-training. The initiative aligns with the Foundation’s broader vision of empowering communities and creating women leaders at the grassroots level.
