About the Grant

Wildlife Acoustics offers a quarterly grant program aimed at supporting scientific research, habitat monitoring, and environmental conservation projects. The grant is structured to help researchers access essential acoustic monitoring products and software, and to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing through conference participation.

Three types of grants are available: the Standard Product Grant, the Software-Only Grant, and a newly introduced Travel Grant. The Standard Product Grant provides up to $12,000 USD per quarter in Wildlife Acoustics equipment and software, with individual applicants eligible for up to $4,000 USD worth of recorders, accessories, and analysis tools. The Software-Only Grant offers a streamlined process to receive annual licenses for Kaleidoscope Pro software, ideal for researchers needing analysis tools only.

The 2025 Travel Grant supports early-career professionals who wish to present their research at academic or scientific conferences. It offers up to $1,000 USD each quarter for expenses such as registration, travel, and accommodation. Through this initiative, Wildlife Acoustics strengthens the global conservation community by making innovative research more accessible and visible.

Who can Apply?

This grant opportunity is open to scientists, researchers, and conservation professionals who are actively involved in wildlife research or habitat monitoring. Individuals or organizations worldwide may apply, provided their work focuses on terrestrial wildlife such as birds, bats, amphibians, or similar species.

To qualify for the Standard Product Grant, applicants must demonstrate a need for Wildlife Acoustics equipment and analysis software to conduct their field research. For the Software-Only Grant, the process is simplified and does not require supporting documentation such as letters of recommendation or proof of tax-exempt status.

Applicants for any grant category must submit their application in English and include all required documentation. For the Standard Product and Travel Grant, a letter of recommendation and a certificate or letter showing tax-exempt or charitable status of the organization must be included. Note that recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes if their country does not offer tax exemptions.

The Travel Grant is specifically designed for early-career professionals using Wildlife Acoustics tools who wish to share their findings at a conference. It supports conference-related costs to encourage global collaboration and scientific exchange in the conservation community.
