About Organisation
The Habitats Trust (THT) is an India-based organisation dedicated to conserving the country’s biodiversity, with a special focus on lesser-known species and overlooked ecosystems. It works to strengthen conservation outcomes through long-term, science-backed, and holistic approaches. THT supports initiatives that integrate ecological research, habitat protection, and community engagement to ensure sustainable conservation impact. By funding organisations working on critical conservation challenges, THT aims to bridge gaps in biodiversity protection and promote scalable, well-designed conservation models across India.
About the Grant
The THT Conservation Grant supports organisations addressing India’s conservation challenges, particularly those focused on lesser-known species and critical habitats. The grant promotes holistically designed conservation efforts that consider ecosystems, species protection, and long-term sustainability. Awarded over a three-year period, the grant enables organisations to plan and implement sustained conservation interventions rather than short-term projects. Two shortlisted applicants will receive funding under this grant for 2026, supporting impactful, well-structured conservation programmes aligned with national biodiversity priorities.
Who can Apply?
The grant is open only to organisations working in the field of conservation in India. Eligible applicants must demonstrate experience in biodiversity conservation, species protection, habitat conservation, or ecosystem restoration. Organisations should have the capacity to design and implement multi-year conservation programmes and manage long-term funding responsibly. Individual applicants are not eligible. Proposals should align with holistic conservation approaches and focus on lesser-known species or critical habitats within India.
How to Apply?
Eligible organisations must submit their applications through the designated application portal during the open call for 2026. Applicants should ensure that proposals clearly outline conservation objectives, methodology, long-term impact, and organisational capacity. Applications must be completed and submitted online before the deadline to be considered for evaluation.
Application Deadline
Applications for the THT Conservation Grant 2026 are currently open and must be submitted before the portal closes to be considered for funding support.
