Through partnerships with industry leaders, governments, and innovation-driven institutions, JFD creates opportunities for training, investment, mentorship, and international exposure. Its mission is to ensure that women and girls across Europe gain access to the resources, networks, and recognition needed to lead technological change, particularly in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence.

About the Grant

The Margaret Awards celebrate and support women and girls who are driving impactful innovation in technology, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. The awards recognise women entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, and young innovators whose projects address pressing societal challenges. Winners receive a comprehensive one-year acceleration programme valued at €1 million, offering mentorship, visibility, training, financing opportunities, and strategic partnerships to help scale their innovations. The 2026 edition, themed “United by Tech,” focuses on AI-powered solutions and aims to elevate women shaping the future of European tech. The award provides an exceptional platform to transform ideas into high-impact, internationally recognised innovations.

Who can Apply?

The Margaret Awards are open to three categories of female applicants across Europe: women entrepreneurs who are founders or co-founders of innovative startups; women intrapreneurs leading impactful innovation or AI-focused projects within companies; and Margaret Juniors—girls aged 14 to 22 with AI-driven or tech-based innovations. Applicants must demonstrate originality, relevance, and strong potential for societal impact. Projects should show clear innovation, preferably centred around artificial intelligence. Candidates should be committed to scaling their ideas and contributing to technological progress in Europe. The programme encourages applications from those seeking visibility, growth support, mentorship, and broader international influence.

How to Apply?

Applicants must prepare a detailed proposal describing their innovative AI or tech project, outlining its purpose, societal impact, development stage, and long-term vision. Submissions should clearly explain the applicant’s role, achievements, and growth aspirations. Required documents may include a project summary, pitch deck, and personal profile. Applications are reviewed for innovation, impact, feasibility, and leadership potential. Early submission is recommended to ensure completeness and timely evaluation.

Application Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Margaret Awards is 27 February 2026, and all applications must be completed and submitted before this date for consideration.
