About Organisation

The Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation is committed to fostering economic inclusion and empowerment in regions often excluded from the global economy. Rooted in the mission to create a fairer world, the Foundation supports projects that help build sustainable livelihoods and address structural inequalities. Their approach centers on long-term partnerships with grassroots initiatives that create real, measurable impact on local communities.

The Foundation believes that change comes from within communities and supports organizations that are embedded in and understand local contexts. They emphasize collaborative growth and are keen to support innovative solutions to systemic challenges. Education, economic inclusion, and advocacy are key pillars of their work, with cross-cutting themes such as gender equity and support for marginalized populations including indigenous groups and persons with disabilities.

Through a strategic focus on areas like value chains, financial inclusion, and climate resilience, the Foundation aims to uplift underserved populations by enabling access to opportunities and resources. Projects supported by the Foundation often include strong educational components—formal or informal—and encourage experimentation through pilot models. With a focus on transparency, learning, and local empowerment, the Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation continues to drive impactful social change where it is most needed.

About the Grant

The Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation Grant Program supports entrepreneurial and income-generating projects that aim to create fair economic participation in underserved regions. The Foundation is currently inviting applications for initiatives that generate sustainable livelihoods and drive inclusive economic development.

Grants are awarded to projects that align with the Foundation’s core focus areas: Value Chains, Education, Advocacy, Financial Inclusion, Climate and Resource Management, and Gender Equity. Each funded project must address at least one of these areas while demonstrating a strong commitment to community-led development.

Innovative pilot projects that test new solutions, methods, or approaches are strongly encouraged, especially if they focus on increasing community resilience or promoting environmental sustainability. Additionally, proposals that support marginalized populations and foster structural gender equity receive priority consideration.

The Foundation provides funding between €10,000 and €50,000 per year, with a maximum cap of €150,000 over the project’s duration. Funded projects are expected to incorporate long-term planning, measurable impact, and a sustainable implementation strategy. The grant is ideal for smaller, grassroots organizations with a community-first approach and a strong mission to bridge gaps in economic opportunity, access to education, and resources.

Only complete applications from eligible regions that reflect the Foundation’s mission and focus areas will be considered.

Who can Apply?

The Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation accepts grant applications only from organizations that are legally registered as charitable organizations, NGOs, or non-profit entities in their respective countries. International organizations and those with an annual operating budget exceeding €1,000,000 are not eligible for this funding opportunity.

Eligible organizations must be based in specific regions. These include South Africa, Rwanda, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Mexico, and Peru. In India, only those operating in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Darjeeling, or Sikkim can apply. Organizations from other regions will not be considered.

The Foundation places a strong emphasis on grassroots organizations that understand the local needs and can implement community-driven solutions. All applications must address at least one of the Foundation’s primary focus areas—Value Chains, Education, Advocacy, Access to Finance, Climate and Resource Management, or Gender Equity.

Projects should avoid including elements like animal husbandry or poultry farming, as these are not supported. Proposals must be free of any discriminatory content. Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the Foundation’s thematic focus or geographic criteria will be automatically disqualified.

Organizations applying must be capable of demonstrating accountability, sustainability, and the potential for long-term impact in their communities.

How to Apply?

Eligible organizations must submit a complete grant application detailing their project’s goals, impact, and alignment with the Foundation’s focus areas. Applications should clearly outline how the initiative addresses issues of economic inclusion, gender equity, or climate resilience.
