Their strategic approach aligns with the national agenda of sustainable development and carbon neutrality. The Foundation often collaborates with credible implementation partners, especially grassroots NGOs, to achieve measurable and sustainable outcomes across India.
About the Grant
Bajaj Electricals Foundation is inviting proposals from experienced NGOs to partner on a Tree Plantation, Urban Forestation (Miyawaki type), and Biodiversity Project. The initiative aims to boost green cover, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and environmental awareness, while fostering active community engagement. Preferred locations include PAN India regions with special consideration for Maharashtra, Rajasthan (especially Sikar), and aspirational districts. Selected partners will conduct site assessments, complete timely plantations, ensure sapling survival above 95%, and carry out post-plantation maintenance, monitoring, and documentation for at least 12 months. The project emphasizes planting only Indian species and discourages commercial, herb, or shrub plantations.
Who can Apply?
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with proven experience in afforestation, urban forestation, and biodiversity initiatives are eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate a solid track record of executing similar environmental projects, especially those involving community participation, long-term maintenance, and measurable ecological outcomes. Proposals should highlight past case studies, work plans, technical methodology, and a budget plan. Additionally, organizations must ensure compliance with environmental codes and permissions from relevant authorities. Strong preference will be given to NGOs capable of working in Maharashtra, Rajasthan (especially Sikar), or aspirational districts, and those ensuring the use of native tree species only.
