About Organisation
The India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is an independent non-profit trust headquartered in Bangalore, supporting art, culture, research, and heritage initiatives across India. Through its Archives & Museums Programme, IFA seeks to energise archives and museum spaces as forums for public dialogue, critical reflection, and creative engagement. The foundation works deeply with individual practitioners, scholars, curators, and cultural institutions to generate new knowledge and interpretations of heritage resources. IFA emphasises participatory approaches, linguistic diversity, and collaborative practices that foreground local histories and memory in creative outcomes.
About the Grant
IFA, in collaboration with Vintage Hub (Jorhat, Assam), invites applications for creative and scholarly projects under its Archives & Museums Programme. The call supports interventions engaging with the Vintage Hub’s archival collection, including photographs, maps, heirlooms, and oral histories related to Jorhat and Assam’s past. Projects may interpret archives through artistic formats—public exhibitions, interactive tours, publications—or scholarly work such as oral-history documentation, audio guides, mapping, and digital storytelling. The grant covers up to 15 months of work and aims to foster interdisciplinary, community-based explorations of history, memory, and material culture.
