About Organisation
The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is a global financing mechanism dedicated to empowering women as key actors in peacebuilding and humanitarian response. Supported by UN Women, governments, and civil society, WPHF provides timely and flexible funding to women-led and women’s rights organizations worldwide. Its mission is to strengthen the participation of women in peace processes, humanitarian action, and recovery efforts, ensuring gender equality is central to global security. WPHF operates across diverse conflict-affected and crisis settings, bridging the gap between grassroots initiatives and international frameworks. By providing catalytic and rapid response grants, the fund helps organizations and individuals respond to urgent opportunities and emerging challenges. Its approach focuses on agility, accessibility, and inclusivity, prioritizing women’s leadership at every level. Through partnerships with local actors, WPHF builds sustainable pathways for peace, amplifies women’s voices, and supports initiatives that directly contribute to stability, justice, and resilience in conflict-affected communities.
About the Grant
The Rapid Response Funding: Direct Support Stream provides up to USD 25,000 in flexible funding to support women’s participation and leadership in peace processes. This mechanism is designed to respond swiftly to urgent and unforeseen opportunities where women’s inclusion is at risk or underrepresented. The grant supports interventions that strengthen women’s roles at decision-making tables, amplify their advocacy in peace negotiations, and ensure gender perspectives are integrated into agreements and processes. Funding can cover activities such as advocacy campaigns, travel support for women peacebuilders, technical assistance, convenings, and urgent coordination needs. The Direct Support Stream emphasizes accessibility, allowing small organizations and individuals to apply, particularly in fragile or conflict-affected contexts where timely action can make the greatest impact. The initiative demonstrates WPHF’s commitment to removing barriers and providing direct, flexible financial resources to women change-makers.
