About Organisation

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) was established under the ANRF Act 2023 by the Parliament of India to promote a culture of research and innovation across the country. With the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, who chairs the ANRF Governing Board, ANRF aims to advance India’s research ecosystem, foster scientific innovation, and support cutting-edge research in various fields. The foundation seeks to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in science and technology by implementing progressive measures to enhance the ease of doing research. Through its programs and initiatives, ANRF empowers researchers by offering them flexibility and resources to conduct high-quality research, nurturing the next generation of innovators and thinkers.

About the Grant

The Prime Minister’s Early Career Research Grant (PM ECRG), launched by ANRF, aims to support early career researchers in India by providing them with essential funding and resources. The program offers grants of up to ₹60 lakh, including overheads, for a period of three years to encourage research excellence. It allows researchers flexibility in utilizing resources, recruiting manpower, and international travel for project-related activities. The grant also supports expenses related to open access publications and patent filing. This program replaces the Startup Research Grant (SRG) of the former SERB. Up to 700 grants will be awarded annually, promoting scientific advancement across various fields and disciplines.
