About the Grant
Pfizer’s Competitive Grant Program is designed to enhance the education of primary care physicians and vaccinators regarding COVID-19 and its immediate and long-term effects, particularly in individuals at increased risk of severe disease. The grant focuses on addressing educational gaps for healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, and midwives, by offering tools and resources that cover critical topics like disease burden, long COVID, and coadministration of vaccines. The program aims to improve healthcare providers’ understanding of the evolving nature of COVID-19 and the benefits of adapted vaccines. It also emphasizes building healthcare professionals’ confidence in addressing vaccine hesitancy and ensuring effective communication with patients about the importance of vaccination. Projects eligible for funding must focus on improving healthcare provider competence and equipping them to provide optimal care and vaccination strategies. The geographic scope for this grant is global, excluding the US, Canada, and Taiwan.
