About Organisation

The City of Paris has long demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing global health, social equality, and international solidarity. Through its international cooperation initiatives, the municipality works to support vulnerable communities, strengthen healthcare systems, and promote rights-based approaches to development. Since 2001, Paris has played a central role in supporting efforts to fight HIV/AIDS in low- and middle-income countries, recognising that access to healthcare is a critical component of social justice. Over the years, its funding programs have enabled local and international organisations to implement impactful community-led initiatives, expand preventive services, and improve access to essential treatments.

The City of Paris places particular emphasis on supporting grassroots organisations and collaborative projects built on genuine partnerships with local actors. It values initiatives that combine public health expertise with community engagement, ensuring that interventions are adapted to local realities. The administration also prioritises capacity building and sustainable development approaches, encouraging organisations to develop long-term strategies that strengthen local resilience. By supporting health-focused civil society organisations, the City of Paris continues to contribute to a wider global movement committed to reducing inequalities, protecting vulnerable populations, and empowering communities to take control of their health and wellbeing.

About the Grant

The “Accès à la santé & lutte contre le VIH-Sida” grant is part of the City of Paris’s 2026 international solidarity initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access and intensifying efforts against HIV/AIDS in developing countries. This call for projects seeks to support impactful, community-driven initiatives that strengthen prevention, testing, treatment, and awareness around HIV, particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations. The grant focuses on reducing health inequalities by empowering organisations that work closely with local communities and health systems.

The funding supports a wide range of activities, including sexual and reproductive health education, capacity building for local health workers, strengthening health infrastructure, stigma reduction, counselling services, and tailored outreach to high-risk groups. The grant is flexible, allowing organisations to propose innovative or established interventions that respond directly to local needs.

Projects must demonstrate measurable social and public health benefits and include strong monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. Priority is given to initiatives that foster long-term impact, build sustainable local capacity, and promote partnerships between French associations and local organisations in the target countries. Through this grant, the City of Paris aims to enhance global efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and support inclusive, equitable access to healthcare in low- and middle-income regions.

Who can Apply?

The grant is open exclusively to French nonprofit organisations legally registered under the 1901 or 1908 association laws, as well as foundations recognised as being of public utility. While applicants are not required to be based in Paris, organisations with a Parisian domicile may receive favourable consideration, as this aligns with the city’s goal of strengthening its local associative ecosystem. All applicants must have been legally established for at least one year prior to applying and should demonstrate the administrative, financial, and operational capacity required to implement international health projects.

Eligible organisations must present projects focused on improving healthcare access or combating HIV/AIDS in developing countries. Proposed initiatives must be feasible, ethically sound, and aligned with public health standards. Organisations should have strong partnerships with local actors in the target country, ensuring that the project responds to actual community needs and is carried out collaboratively.

Applicants must also provide evidence of responsible financial management and the ability to monitor and evaluate project activities. Projects must include clear objectives, expected outcomes, and sustainable strategies. The grant favours initiatives that highlight community participation, gender-sensitive approaches, and long-term capacity building. French associations with experience in global health, HIV prevention, or community development are especially encouraged to apply.

How to Apply?

Applicants must submit a complete project proposal detailing objectives, activities, budget, partnerships, and expected outcomes. Documentation should include legal registration proof, financial capacity, and evidence of collaboration with local partners. A clear monitoring and evaluation plan is required. All materials must be submitted within the official application window and follow the City of Paris’s required format and guidelines.
