About the Grant

The National and International Research Travel Grant Program offers financial support for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to undertake short-term research trips within Europe and beyond. The grant reimburses travel-related expenses — including transportation, accommodation, and meals — between €1,000 and €3,000 for research conducted in 2026. It encourages cross-border collaboration, access to archives and collections, and the advancement of innovative research topics in the humanities, particularly in art and cultural history.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include doctoral students enrolled in an EU-based higher education institution and postdoctoral researchers who earned their doctorate between January 9, 2023, and January 9, 2026. The grant supports focused, time-bound research trips rather than long-term residencies or writing stays. Applicants must submit a clear research proposal detailing objectives, methodology, and relevance of travel, along with a budget and institutional support letter. Applications for jointly supervised long-term theses are not eligible.

How to Apply?

Submit your application online, including a cover letter, CV, project proposal with schedule, letter of support, and a provisional budget specifying co-financing details.
