About Organisation

The Government of Maharashtra has introduced the Maha Agri-AI initiative to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and frontier digital technologies across the agricultural sector. The initiative aims to create a farmer-centric digital transformation model that increases productivity, strengthens climate resilience, and enhances farmer incomes. Through the MahaAgri-AI Center, the government seeks to build scalable, replicable technological solutions that address on-ground agricultural challenges. By fostering innovation, supporting research, and enabling real-world experimentation, the initiative aligns with national development goals and positions Maharashtra as a leader in AI-driven agriculture.

About the Grant

The Maha Agri-AI Policy 2025–2029 provides funding and support to innovators developing AI-based agricultural solutions. The program focuses on integrating AI, GenAI, and digital tools across the agri-value chain to boost efficiency, sustainability, and economic growth. It is structured into two tracks: Discovery & Ideation for early-stage concepts and Pilot & Validation for mature solutions ready for field deployment. The grant aims to help transform agriculture through technology by supporting prototypes, real-world testing, and scalable models that improve farmer outcomes and create measurable impact in Maharashtra’s farming ecosystem.

Who can Apply?

Eligible applicants include startups, innovators, researchers, FPOs, NGOs, academic teams, and consortia working on AI-driven agricultural solutions. Track 1 is suitable for early-stage ideas, proof-of-concept models, and minimum viable products that require initial validation. Track 2 targets mature solutions with demonstrated potential for on-ground implementation and scalability. Applicants must demonstrate clear relevance to Maharashtra’s agricultural challenges, technical feasibility, and farmer-centric outcomes. Proposals should showcase innovative use of AI or digital technologies with potential for climate resilience, productivity enhancement, or improved value chains. Collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams are encouraged.

How to Apply?

Applicants must prepare a detailed proposal outlining the solution, technological approach, expected outcomes, budget, and implementation plan. Depending on the track, they must demonstrate either early-stage potential or readiness for field deployment. Submissions should include supporting documents, prototypes or concept notes, and any evidence of prior research or pilot work. Applications must be submitted through the official government submission process before the specified deadline.

Application Deadline

The program’s application deadline is 30 November 2025. All proposals and required documents must be completed and submitted before this date for consideration.
