About the Grant
This fellowship offers an exciting academic opportunity for PhD scholars from Indian universities to further their research through a short-term visit to the King’s India Institute, King’s College London. Much like the Inlaks Research & Travel Grant, the fellowship is designed to provide scholars with access to essential academic resources, libraries, and expert consultation that may significantly enhance their doctoral research. The program provides financial support for up to three months, enabling scholars to focus on collecting relevant materials, engaging with subject experts, and enriching the quality of their dissertations. In addition to covering travel and maintenance costs, the fellowship extends assistance for purchasing research material, making copies of relevant literature, and ensuring health-related provisions. Furthermore, grantees will also receive additional support from King’s College London during their stay. This initiative aims to promote advanced research in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences by encouraging international academic exchange. By facilitating collaboration with global experts, the fellowship helps PhD students expand their intellectual horizons and strengthen their research outcomes. Ultimately, it is designed to foster meaningful academic development, which benefits not only the scholar but also contributes to the larger body of research in India and beyond.
