Call for
InDiCo- Global Second Open Call
About Organisation
InDiCo-Global (International Digital Cooperation – Global) is a key initiative focused on advancing digital and ICT standardisation efforts beyond Europe. Its core mission is to promote European digital values, technologies, and standardisation frameworks in global partner regions. The project acts as a bridge between technical communities across continents, strengthening cooperation and ensuring alignment with the European Standardisation System (ESS). InDiCo-Global works in alignment with key EU policy papers and promotes collaboration through stakeholder engagement, training, events, and technical exchanges. Through a series of structured open calls, it enables organisations to conduct capacity-building initiatives, organise developer and stakeholder events, and implement proof-of-concept projects that support digital transformation globally. Emphasising innovation and interoperability, InDiCo-Global plays a crucial role in shaping digital policy dialogues and ensuring the global relevance of European standards in areas like cybersecurity, AI, 5G, data protection, and smart cities. By supporting the internationalisation of digital standards, the initiative contributes to a more inclusive, secure, and sustainable digital ecosystem worldwide.
About the Grant
The InDiCo-Global Second Open Call provides funding to projects that promote European ICT/digital standards in target countries and regions. This funding call supports a broad range of activities, including training, workshops, hackathons, and implementation of European standards in global settings. Applicants are encouraged to align their proposals with EU digital policy agendas and demonstrate tangible outcomes. Priority areas include digital identity (e-ID), consumer IoT security, AI, 5G/6G, quantum technologies, circular economy, and open data. Activities like “train the trainer” sessions, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and standardisation events are highly encouraged. The goal is to reinforce the European approach to ICT standards in regions such as Africa, Southeast Asia, LAC, and more, while enabling local capacity building and policy harmonisation. Applicants may address any of the provided thematic areas with equal priority. Projects must reflect international cooperation, technical relevance, and capacity building to be eligible. All submissions should demonstrate a strong alignment with the European standardisation framework, and applicants may only apply once under this specific call while adhering to the funding limit.
Who can Apply?
Eligible applicants for the InDiCo-Global Second Open Call must be legal entities either from European Union Member States and Associated Countries or from the programme’s target regions—namely India, Southeast Asia, African Union, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries. However, legal entities from China and Belarus are excluded from this funding opportunity. Applicants must not submit activities already funded through other sources to prevent double funding, although co-funding of new proposals is allowed. Proposals should ideally reflect alignment with EU-relevant digital/ICT agendas and focus on training, awareness, implementation, or technical cooperation around European ICT standards. The funding supports NGOs, academic institutions, research organisations, and similar legal bodies who are actively involved in ICT capacity building, digital governance, or technical standardisation. Each applicant may apply under multiple calls but the total amount granted cannot exceed €50,000 across all InDiCo-Global calls.
