About the Grant
The IndiaAI Hackathon on Mineral Targeting under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative invites participation from innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The hackathon seeks to develop AI/ML-based solutions for identifying potential exploration zones for critical minerals like REE, Ni-PGE, copper, diamonds, iron, manganese, and gold within a 39,000 sq. km area across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Participants are expected to create predictive maps, 3D models, and deep-seated mineral targeting solutions through data integration, modeling, and validation techniques. Winners will receive substantial monetary awards and gain national recognition for their innovative solutions. The initiative also aims to support the implementation of the best solutions with the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and offers participants real-world exposure to critical national challenges, providing a platform to significantly contribute to India’s strategic mineral exploration efforts.
Who can Apply?
The IndiaAI Hackathon welcomes a diverse range of applicants. Teams from registered companies and recognized start-ups are eligible to participate. Academic institutions, research and development organizations, and autonomous bodies, including public sector undertakings, are also invited to compete. Additionally, students, researchers affiliated with educational institutions, and working professionals are eligible to apply either individually or as part of a team. The hackathon encourages participation across sectors and disciplines to promote collaborative innovation. There is also a special prize for all-women teams to encourage inclusivity and diversity. Participants must have the capability to handle large datasets, apply AI/ML techniques, and create well-documented models, predictive maps, and presentations. All entries should meet the detailed technical and documentation requirements specified by IndiaAI for validation and evaluation purposes.
How to Apply?
Interested participants must prepare their model codes, project reports, predictive maps, and a virtual presentation showcasing their methodology and findings. Applications should include detailed documentation of the data, tools, and techniques used. Submissions must be made according to the guidelines provided by IndiaAI under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative. Ensure that all deliverables are properly compiled and submitted before the deadline.
