About the Grant
The IBRO Exchange Fellowships Program 2025 offers funding for early-career neuroscientists to conduct laboratory exchanges that will enhance their scientific training. These fellowships provide a platform for PhD students and early-career postdoctoral fellows to gain exposure to different research environments, fostering professional growth and increasing research capabilities. The fellowship program is designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, support the development of innovative research, and strengthen the applicant’s home lab through new collaborations. The grant covers exchange expenses, such as travel and research costs, allowing participants to spend time in a host laboratory for a structured exchange lasting 3 to 4 months. Fellowships are available in regions including Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, and North America.
Who can Apply?
This program is open to PhD neuroscience students and early-career postdoctoral fellows who are within 5 years of completing their postdoc. Applicants must reside in one of the following regions: Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, or North America. The selection process prioritizes applicants with strong academic credentials, relevant work experience, and significant research proposals. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how the exchange will benefit both their research and their home lab. The proposed laboratory exchange must last a minimum of 3 months for most regions, with a minimum of 4 months for the US/Canada region.

Applicants must submit an application form with detailed information about their background, research proposal, exchange details, and budget request. Host acceptance letters and reference letters are also required.
