About Organisation

The Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) have partnered to launch the Hindu Kush Himalaya Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs (HKH-ICE). The initiative is supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). GRP works on building resilience in vulnerable regions, while ICIMOD focuses on sustainable development in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. Together, they aim to promote innovation in sectors critical to the region’s ecological and economic stability.

About the Grant

The Hindu Kush Himalaya Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs (HKH-ICE) seeks innovative solutions to tackle climate change and other environmental challenges in the HKH region. The challenge focuses on resilient agriculture, water security, and sustainable tourism. It aims to support local entrepreneurs from Bhutan, Bangladesh (Chittagong Hill Tracts), India (Himalayan states), and Nepal. The challenge will offer winners tailored mentorship, resources, and funding to help scale their solutions and drive climate resilience.

Who can Apply?

Entrepreneurs and innovators from Bhutan, Bangladesh (Chittagong Hill Tracts), India (Himalayan states), and Nepal are eligible to apply. The initiative is open to for-profit organizations, local innovators, and entrepreneurs. Applicants should propose solutions addressing climate change, water security, and sustainable agriculture or tourism. The initiative aims to support those developing scalable, impactful solutions that promote ecological and community resilience across the region.
