About the Grant
The “Building Partner Capacity to Counter Chemical Weapons Threats” grant aims to counter the increasing use of chemical weapons (CW) by strengthening global defenses against such threats. With advancements in non-traditional and pharmaceutical-based chemical agents, as well as the proliferation of generative AI and machine learning, the grant is essential to addressing the growing accessibility of CW knowledge among both state and non-state actors. Through cooperative agreements, this program will support projects that focus on CW detection, identification, and attribution, enhancing the ability of participating countries and organizations to safeguard against CW proliferation. This initiative emphasizes the importance of technical expertise and collaboration to fortify the global stance against CW threats and to curb access to CW production knowledge.
