About Organisation

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally recognized educational organization committed to fostering academic excellence, intercultural understanding, and social responsibility. Founded in 1968, IB provides high-quality education programs that challenge students to think critically, engage in meaningful inquiry, and develop skills for lifelong learning. With a vision to create a better, more peaceful world through education, IB emphasizes holistic development, encouraging students to be knowledgeable, principled, and open-minded global citizens.

IB operates across more than 150 countries, offering programs such as the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP). The organization actively promotes youth-driven initiatives and leadership, empowering students to take action on pressing global challenges. Through projects like the Festival of Hope and the Global Youth Action Fund, IB nurtures young changemakers by providing them with platforms to amplify their voices and turn innovative ideas into impactful solutions. The Global Youth Action Fund is a key initiative under IB’s broader mission, aimed at fostering sustainability, social justice, and educational equity. By supporting student-led projects, IB helps break socio-economic barriers and encourages youth to contribute to global development.

About the Grant

The Global Youth Action Fund 2025 is a prestigious grant program designed to support secondary school students who aspire to drive meaningful change in their communities. Launched by the International Baccalaureate, this initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and encourages young innovators to develop solutions addressing global challenges such as environmental sustainability, social justice, climate action, and educational equity.

This grant provides financial assistance to students with impactful project ideas, enabling them to bring their visions to life. Selected projects receive up to $3,000 USD in funding, which can be utilized for materials, outreach efforts, or other necessary resources. Beyond financial support, the initiative connects young leaders to a global network of changemakers, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

In previous years, the fund has successfully supported numerous projects across diverse areas, including renewable energy, waste management, gender equality, and accessible education. The initiative is closely linked with IB’s Festival of Hope, which aims to amplify youth voices and create a global movement toward positive change. By participating in this program, students not only receive funding but also gain valuable experience in project development, advocacy, and leadership.

Who can Apply?

The Global Youth Action Fund is open to secondary school students worldwide who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 19 and currently enrolled in secondary education. To qualify, applicants must present a project idea that aligns with at least one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project should focus on addressing key global challenges such as sustainability, education, social justice, environmental conservation, or equity. Successful applications will demonstrate clear objectives, feasibility, and a strong potential for impact.

Past recipients have included students working on projects related to climate change advocacy, educational inclusion, and social empowerment. The initiative seeks individuals who show leadership, creativity, and commitment to social change. Whether working individually or as part of a team, applicants should be able to articulate how the grant will support their project’s growth and implementation.
